Reach PLC names Facebook exec as Chief Customer Officer

Maureen McDonagh to join Daily Record publisher in January

Daily Record and Sunday Mail publisher Reach PLC has appointed Facebook executive Maureen McDonagh as its chief customer officer.

The Harvard Business School graduate will be responsible for delivering a joined up data and customer strategy when she takes up her post at the end of January.

McDonagh has been with Facebook for more than six years, most recently as industry head of the social media giant’s retail team where she works with clients including Tesco, M&S, Arcadia, Burberry, Chanel and Cancer Research.

She was previously digital commerce director (EMEA & Global) at Nectar Loyalty and head of partner marketing and eCommerce at News UK, publisher of the Sun and the Times.

It is the first C-suite hire for Jim Mullen, who became chief executive of Reach in July. Reach is the owner of Scottish Business Insider.

Mullen said: “With her blend of media, e-commerce and customer loyalty experience, Maureen will be perfectly placed to drive our customer-centric vision and targets forward, ultimately helping us to continue to innovate and develop new customer revenue streams.
I am delighted to welcome her to the Reach PLC executive team.”
